LISTEN TO ROSE'S MUSIC AND CHECK UPCOMING GIGS AT: www.myspace.com/roseturtleertler

Rose Turtle Ertler has been playing ukulele for over ten years.  In an attempt to save the misunderstood reputation of the adorable little Hawaiian instrument, Rose plays her original contemporary ukulele songs mostly acoustic, but sometimes also uses a range of effects pedals.  Rose is nothing like Tiny Tim!

Rose has released four solo albums and regularly tours, mostly in Australia.  She has also toured to Europe twice and performed at the New York Uke Festival (2008) and the New Zealand Ukulele Festival (2009).

These days, Rose also plays banjo and a bit of autoharp and guitar, and if there's a piano in the room, she may will have a tinkle on that! For her upcoming 2010 winter tour, Rose will be adding an atmos-soundtrack to some songs, played on an old record player on stage!

PRESS QUOTES:

"Rose Turtle Ertler calls the music on her latest album, Lady Birds of Crick Creek, 'wonky folk', but the Daily Planet reckons it's the rest of the world that's wonky and this a straight-up uke-pop gem." (THE DAILY PLANET, RADIO NATIONAL, ABC-FM RADIO)

"Comparisons are difficult to make but those looking for a reference point could think Frank Zappa and Gillian Welch's love-child." (NORTHCOTE LEADER, MELBOURNE)

"...then you find our Rose in Melbourne producing stuff on her second CD that you could play at a donwhome party and the world has done a U-turn. This is the funkiest girl you is ever going to meet. Let the uke age begin." (THE AGE ****)
