Rose Turtle Ertler has been writing and performing music for theatre shows on and off since 1991 when she was a member of notorious Sydney performance group The Post Arrivalists (1991-96). She has composed and performed music for Sydney theatre companies including Urban Theatre Projects (three productions including The Longest Night for the Adelaide Festival), Erth, Australian Theatre of the Deaf and Frumpus. She also worked twice for Salamanca Theatre Co (now Tasmanian Theatre Company) in Hobart. In Melbourne she has composed a grungy soundtrack for Sisters Grimm's musical Bum Town (2007), worked with Family Dog Theatre and was musical director for the Kingfisher Festival at CERES. In Europe, Rose lived and worked with Antagon Aktion Theater in Frankfurt for six months, with her band Spookyloop composing music for shows (1996).
